FYI Costumers!
Oct. 6th, 2009 08:46 pmI can't get to this (drat!), but others may be interested (I'm looking at you, Karisu and Dany!) :

I wonder if they're going to sell off any of the actual animal costumes from Mr. Fox? I may try to call them and ask. Could be a lot of cool costumes and accessories there. Just imagine-- a *real* opera cape!

It's just south of Little Tokyo apparently.
Also, for costume bits: "It's A Wrap"-- you're about 5 minutes from their West Side Store:
It's A Wrap
1164 S. Robertson Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90035
310-246-WRAP
See my previous LJ post for details. They have a ton of costume bits that can accessorize almost anything. Some things are bargains, some are pricey (because, for instance, it was used on "Hanna Montana").
Enjoy!

Date: 2009-10-08 05:17 am (UTC)The L.A. Opera hosted (but did not produce) a production of "Where the Wild Things Are" and that was beautifully produced, though having Max played by a woman was disturbing. the Wild Things costumes were *amazing*! I geeked out and went to the stage door and asked if I could talk with the stage manager. I had to wait a while, but he came out and agreed to give us a mini-tour of the costumes. Unbelievable! And HEAVY! But something that (clearly) had a profound effect on me.
