I'm in the city, but thankfully I'm safe so far. But my poor sister got hit with tear gas during the riots :(

Oddly, I'm kind of envious of her: while I don't want a huge lungful of the stuff, I would like to know what it feels like, first hand.

There was once a science fiction con in the '60's that got hit with drifts of tear gas (it was being held in Berkeley). Tear-gassing nerds...how ironic!
