Again, I hate that LJ calls it that. I've always seen LJ as a kind of large party, where people share conversations and interests. Sometimes one drifts from group to group, listening with interest one moment, getting distracted the next.

I only do major re-shuffing of the friends list a couple times a year. The usual reason for adding or deleting someone is rarely personal (I hate/love you!). I believe that a journal is very personal-- no one has the right to dictate what one does/says/believes in their personal space. At the same time, if I'm uncomfortable with something, I'll just wander away. Most common reasons for removal: Intense (or just too many) posts on politics or religion; HUGE POSTS without cuts; adult-context art or links or text that isn't cut (with warnings). On rare occasions I've dink'd LJ'ers who I just have too little in common with. No offense intended. If you've been deleted and you're curious, post a reply here (or email me: furtech at akela doht com) and I'll explain. Nothing's permanent.

I've also been under a lot of stress lately. One too many posts about the HAWT SEHX you've just had or sugary posts about your sweetie (non-stop gushing) or posts solely made up of eighty-four lines of "<3 <3 <3"'s (or equally annoying stuff) have gotten dink'd. I don't hate you...I'm just not in the mood. I apologize if this comes off as arrogant or snobby (or just grouchy), but as I said above: journals are very personal things. Me? I don't like to be annoyed.

If I haven't added you, it could be that I just haven't updated my friends list yet. These days I generally won't add you unless I know you (or met IRL). You can always email me (see above) if I'm just not recognizing your LJ name. Thanks for your patience! And apologies to any toes I've stepped on.

Well, I will say I was disappointed when you defriended me on June 13th (not that I'm counting ;-) I actually quite enjoyed reading the posts about going hiking with the dog and the pictures you'd put up, etc. To be honest, it's not important to me to know the reason I was dropped, since we barely know each other in person. I'm pretty sure we don't have that much in common outside of the fandom. I'd not go so far as to do more than mention that you can set up a custom friends list for reading, while having a separate list for posting, etc.

I do hope the stress level lowers, though.

too much religion, right?

I can certainly identify with your line of thinking on this. Though, I dont mess much with my 'friends' list much... maybe because im too lazy ;) But when it comes to reading people's entries, there's people who I actively look for posts from-- People I find especially interesting (like yourself *giggle*) ... People who occationally say something that catches my eye...... and then people who are there because I at one time or another was curious enough to find out a bit more about them- bu---t generally I'm not interested in or, as you say, have streams of gush or angst etc.

I trie to widdle down what I put here at least a bit--- because I'd like to say what I post is at least interesting to some degree. Sometimes I get a little out of hand though, I realize. :P Hope I havent been too boring or anoying ;) I really wish I was posting more about doing something fursuity, but money is my biggest problem right now and I'm trying to find the path of least resistance to fix that first.

speaking socially...

Do you ever take quizzes?

I'm really sorry about the stress. And I understand. As I say on my LJ user info page, there are people who I'm quite fond of and have known for a long time who are not on my friends list because their journal entries frequently include stuff that I just don't want to have on my screen during lunch when random co-worker may walk in with a question.

WEll I put ya down on my friends list not knowing what to expect. Perhaps I will get to meet the master of his art in person one day. Until then, I'll just keep to seeing random posts from time to time. Hope ya keep the stress down one way or another.

Thanks for keeping me on your list I really enjoy reading your journal! Apologies if my journal is a bit of a bummer recently. I pretty much understand the stress/cranky thing and I hope you have reason to feel better soon!
