Happy New Year of the Dog!



I'm wa-aaay behind on postings: two conventions, several completed projects, visits from valued out-of-town guests and dosg. But I'm working on it...

Last night I was able to attend a Chinese New Year's party at Anime L.A.-- replete with a gazillion boxes of Chinese take-out! Incredibly delicious food-- from a place near the Van Nuys Airport called, "Manderin Village" (?). Duck, great (if sticky) S&S, soups, beef with X and a bunch of other stuff. Great way to start a new year for the second time! Thanks, Karisu!

In Japan, they had a cute ceremony where the animal from the previous year "talks" about how their year went and turns it over to the new year's animal-- who makes promises about their coming year.

I was born in the year of the Metal Dog. And now I have a craving for Beef Szechuan, and I'm too broke to go get some. Thanks a lot :-P
