Happy New Year of the Dog!



I'm wa-aaay behind on postings: two conventions, several completed projects, visits from valued out-of-town guests and dosg. But I'm working on it...

Last night I was able to attend a Chinese New Year's party at Anime L.A.-- replete with a gazillion boxes of Chinese take-out! Incredibly delicious food-- from a place near the Van Nuys Airport called, "Manderin Village" (?). Duck, great (if sticky) S&S, soups, beef with X and a bunch of other stuff. Great way to start a new year for the second time! Thanks, Karisu!

In Japan, they had a cute ceremony where the animal from the previous year "talks" about how their year went and turns it over to the new year's animal-- who makes promises about their coming year.

Rooster turns it over to Dog (Adorable Shiba dog!)

Was good to see you again. By the way, how did Rondo do with the short hiatus apart from you while you were at FC? Congrats on such a cool dog if I haven't said so already!

Thanks for the Rondo props! He came through the kennel-ing fine: spazzily happy to see me. He did catch kennel-cough (which means he was probably stressed), but since he's had his shots it's a pretty mild version. He did growl at the groomer (bad) but she's a pro and suggested bringing him back sooner than later to get him used to it.

Good to see you again: maybe I will have to pry myself away from family stuff on my next visit to see you guys-- there's not enough time at a con!
