Year of the Dragon!

This is going to be a good year. For me, at least, 2011 was a good warm-up for 2012: I was creatively ebullient and got some things rolling after far too long a time laying fallow.

I was looking up things about the chinese new year and came across a site that explains what the fifteen days of the Lunar New Year celebration consist of. Of particular note (that I wasn't previously aware of) is the little bit on the second day:

Second Day (Kainian): The second day is the birthday of the Chinese God of Wealth. It is also a day for married daughters to visit their parents' and relatives' houses. It is also believed to be the birthday of all dogs and they are, therefore, treated with special foods on this occasion.

Here's another site with a cute bd party for their dog. Here's my favorite pic...

Wow-- didn't know that! No wonder the collies have been treat-happy today (R0ndo asking for one at 2:30am this morning...since he rarely does such, I woke up and gave him and Apache one).

So, lucky year! Hope it pans out for everyone!
