Unusual Weather For May...

furtech...especially for Los Angeles. We're used to odd weather this year, but snow?!?
Naw-- just some Hollywood magic. Roz and I were heading to dinner when we came across this shoot.

Even without asking, it's easy to see this is a fairly big budget film: the snow alone is $$ (it's all flock and white tarp), but those lights, cranes and all the other equipment hints at a budget in the mid-eight digits, at least. No television show has that kind of budget.
If you observe further, you can get other clues: the filming angles are clear from what is and what is-not flocked/snowed. Also, the story takes place in Tennessee: license plates (kudos to Roz for noticing that). Plus, rude PA's and grumbling about papparazzi (you don't get that with most tv or indie productions).
Locals are often annoyed at the inconvenience that shoots sometimes create, but I love 'em. A lot of people don't know how interconnected the film business is with all of Los Angeles. Plus, it's *fun*. I once saw an episode of CSI: NY that shot scenes at a place I hike frequently in the San Fernando Valley. It's cool.
