S.F. Giants!

Even though they're not in the post-season, this is the time of the fall classic (and my last excuse to post these this year) so here I go!

After years of putting it off, I -finally- got to see a game at ATT Park! For years I'd been traumatized by seeing Giants games at Candlestick park: a windy, wet stadium that chilled you to your bones-- and those were -day- games! Night games...*brrrrr*. And the 2 hours to get to the parking lot and 3 hours to get out: I just assumed that -all- baseball parks were like that. Fortunately, Calicougar took me to a Seattle Mariners game and that was wonderful: great stadium and simple parking accommodations!
I went with my brother-in-law on a sunny day a couple of weeks before the end of the season. Parking was fine and the crowds minimal (one of the few perks of being out of the pennant race late in the season). There was a cute Corgi puppy outside (this for Karena). The insides lived up to all the hype that I'd heard on tv and radio broadcasts: a bright, airy stadium with stunning views of San Francisco Bay, the East Bay (Oakland) and the China Basin. Viewing was great and the flow wonderful-- I would have been just as happy just walking laps around the stadium while watching the game. Had a Crazy Crab sandwich (expensive, but good) and the usual peanuts and soda. And the Giants won on a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth! Amazingly fine day!
For those few baseball fans on my list, Flickr’s got the full set of pics
