Have I ever mentioned how much I hate April 1st?

I'm staying away from LJ today and pretty much ignoring posts made on this day. Anyone who makes a "OMD, I have CANCER! (just kidding!)" type post will be ignored forever...

Sorry to be such a poop. I love a good prank, but a good prank involveds good timing and situations. April Fools Day declares that any place or time is appropriate. Sort of like saying, "All jokes are officially funny today! So laugh-- NOW! Or be a poop!" Uh-uh. The one thing you can't do in comedy is declare that something be funny! Plus, I take my concern for others (especially my friends) seriously, and lying about serious badness is a betrayal of that trust.

But-- that said, have your fun! I'm just sitting this out.

Amen! "Jokes" that are basically "Hey I'm lying and abusing your trust so I can laugh at you!" really don't have much charm or wit.

However, you do sometimes see things that are funny just because they're silly or unexpected, not really tricks.

Now *that's* comedy!

Okay-- that's funny. Hilarious, even! But then, that would be really funny *any* day of the year! Plus it involves penguins, which are automatically funny. If all pranks were this clever, it'd be my second favorite holiday...

Best. Picture. Evar. XD
I'm also in agreement with the whole pranks thing. April foolery can be fun, but unfortunately the majority of posts on here are just lame o.x

Like "OMG DRAMA" wow.. how original o.x
But anyway.. back to those very terrified penguins.. XD
