Outahere!

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate April 1st?

I'm staying away from LJ today and pretty much ignoring posts made on this day. Anyone who makes a "OMD, I have CANCER! (just kidding!)" type post will be ignored forever...

Sorry to be such a poop. I love a good prank, but a good prank involveds good timing and situations. April Fools Day declares that any place or time is appropriate. Sort of like saying, "All jokes are officially funny today! So laugh-- NOW! Or be a poop!" Uh-uh. The one thing you can't do in comedy is declare that something be funny! Plus, I take my concern for others (especially my friends) seriously, and lying about serious badness is a betrayal of that trust.

But-- that said, have your fun! I'm just sitting this out.

You know, I don't think I've ever made an April Fool's prank in my life.

Well, how 'bout this? 2 non-prank things that are happening on this day for me are 1.) my car turns 3 years old! and 2.) my company is officially moving to my town of residence! (the latter I know isn't a joke 'cuz they tore my cube apart and made me pack my stuff, and if they say "ha-ha just joking" I will personally set fire to their hair)

I really hate pranks that involve any sort of drama like that. That's just bad form.

I also dislike pranks that are lame and impossible to guess that they're pranks until after the prankster laughs "I got ya!"

However, I do appreciate the pranks that are clever and executed well, though those are few and far between.

Amen! "Jokes" that are basically "Hey I'm lying and abusing your trust so I can laugh at you!" really don't have much charm or wit.

However, you do sometimes see things that are funny just because they're silly or unexpected, not really tricks.

Now *that's* comedy!

Okay-- that's funny. Hilarious, even! But then, that would be really funny *any* day of the year! Plus it involves penguins, which are automatically funny. If all pranks were this clever, it'd be my second favorite holiday...

Best. Picture. Evar. XD
I'm also in agreement with the whole pranks thing. April foolery can be fun, but unfortunately the majority of posts on here are just lame o.x

Like "OMG DRAMA" wow.. how original o.x
But anyway.. back to those very terrified penguins.. XD

hidden dogs

we hid two very small, easy going dogs in the cabinet where the bath towels are kept at work.

This cabinet is opened about every 5 minutes so no dogs were harmed in this prank.

Bath tech was giggling her butt off when she reached in for a towel and two little fuzzy heads popped out.

Actually I haven't noticed anything on my FL today, just normal posts. The Gmail page is kinda funny though... as is Neopets if it's still up, they usually take it down at noon.

I have wanted to do *something* for April Fools but nothing meanspirited or falsely drawing sympathy. Ever since Quakes 4-season superstar soccer player Landon Donovan left for Europe only to turn right around and sign with Quakes rival LA Galaxy, it created a sore spot with Quakes fans. Ergo, my posting of Rikter, the former Quakes mascot, as the new Galaxy mascot.
