Nov. 1st, 2006 08:25 amOne other reason I was house-sitting was to try her new mattress: she shelled out for a "Tempur-Pedic" matress and yeah-- they're that good. Like sleeping on warm mud: it felt "thick". I'd move and slowly my limb would settle into the foam. Further movement entailed moving that limb out of the slight hollow it had formed, but then it would settle again. Any position seemed comfortable: back, side, falling-victim-position. I'm sorely tempted!
It's funny: now Elayne has a waiting list of house/cat-sitters who also want to try that mattress. It's one thing to lay on one for a few minutes in a store, but the proof is in the pudding. Sleeping on a Tempur-Pedic is as wonderful as advertised!
Now the only other type of bed I'd like to try is one I read about in a Larry Niven story: a bed filled with mercury...though I doubt -that- will ever happen!
