[How odd...I just got a collect call from someone at the Pitchess Detention Center up in Newhall. I'm guessing it was a wrong number. It will remain a mystery, though, because I declined the charge. Oh, and now they're calling back. The day starts with heat and weirdness.]
*Interrupting the costume thread with a random post about the critters around me*

'Patch recently managed tear off a toenail in the worst possible way: the claw broke off, but tore horizontally all the way to the toe, exposing the entire quick of the nail. Painful. This meant bandages and a bootie for the next three weeks. I felt bad for her, except for all the times I had to replace the bandages she would chew or throw off.
We dubbed her Pancake Foot Dog . When she ran it sounded like she had a flat tire: *pad-flop-pad-pad-pad-flop--pad-pad* Laughter did -not- encourage her to keep the bandage on...
The Cats of Zor: random pics of her cats.

Raccoons are Evil. Baby raccoons especially so. Don't be fooled!
The black tarantula that I helped across the street. He was none-too-happy about this, but I hate seeing them squished on the road. Especially a handsome fellow like this!. He was -much- faster than I expected and (to my horror) nearly crawled up my arm several times during the course of crossing the road. Thankfully, neither of us got squished and he continued on his merry (if discombobulated) way. (Behind a link to spare my arachnophobic friends)
