The Distraction Roadtrip: Spokane!

After all the emotionally draining and physically exhausting events of the last two years, I came up to Seattle to distract Steve. What better way than to introduce him to the prince and princess of distraction, Rondo and Apache! True to form, they caused much unsettling on their arrival. The trip up was mercifully uneventful. I 'luded Rondo up to his eartips and he spent the trip in a calm, spaced-out manner (pics later). He spent the first few hours at Casa Gallacci happily trotting around and bumping into walls and doorjams.
I thought a road trip would be in order: Steve suggested that we combine several trips into one big, looping roadtrip: Seattle to Spokane to Penticton to Vancouver and back to Seattle.
Currently we are crashing in Spokane at the Hyena Hole socializing with Shawn and Karena. All of us were curious as to how the dogs would react to their ferrets: when Rondo, Apache and Jasmine ran into the house, they literally came to skidding stops in the living room. The dogs showed a mixture of abject horror and utter fascination at the scent. I have never seen Rondo snuffling with such frantic intensity! Bear (the pom) was (as expected) clueless. Dinner at and EXCELLENT Indian place that had the best saag lamb curry!
I slept in the living room with the four dogs: a somewhat sleep-disruptive evening. Dogs were either needing to be let out, jumping on me, licking or nuzzling in insecure moments (I think they thought I had died there or something) and occasionally scrapping (Jazmine is trying to dominate Apache into being her bitch to little success). The only thing that was really disturbing was when they used my body as a launching pad to get over the couch with uncanny accuracy.
Today is seeing Spokane and then off to C-eh-N-eh-D-eh!
