Thanksgiving

This is a working weekend (a long one) for me. I was very grateful to find a few friends to have a pleasant Thanksgiving dinner with this evening. We went to the Odyssey restaurant and were treated to a huge selection of food (their normal brunch fare + traditional Thanksgiving fare). The result was eclectic to say the least: turkey and stuffing; sushi; shrimp and smoked fish; pumpkin pie and creme brule'. The only downside? No leftovers! Or Doggy-bags! My Million-dollar idea: for restaurants to sell leftover units! Anticipating this, I had the foresight to save a pile of tasty leftovers for Frieda, so there was a feast all-around (even though she has no concept of what's up, she's very happy none-the-less).
I'm thankful that Frieda is in good health, that she survived her own troubles and is as healthy as a 91 year-old woman could be.
I'm thankful for my family--parents who cared, sisters I love and neices and a nephew who remind me what's really important.
I'm thankful for who I am, even if I'm not necessarily -where- I want to be; that after a few really bad years-- years wasted-- I am back on track and at least on the right road to where I want to be.
I'm thankful that business is finally picking up and that friends who've had hard times are finally getting a break-- be that a job or an S.O. or a dog (hey, Gordon!).
I'm thankful for friends who dogwalk, who care and who put up with all forms of me (the forelorn, the blue, the cocky, the dumbass, the jerk and the saint).
