Bubbling Pot of Soon

Date: 2011-01-08 07:16 pm (UTC)I'm now lightly browning a cup of chopped onions and a shredded carrot in a couple spoonfuls of olive oil; Then I'll add about 12 cups of water, and toss in the ham steak that I have diced up into a jillion little cubes, along with the hambone, bring it to a boil, and then let it simmer for about 3 hours, being rendered into a stock. A couple of bay leaves will add to the flavor, as well.
While this is simmering, I'll register for EuroFURence 17, as reg opens at Noon, Pacific Time.
_Then_ it will be time to add the split peas, and let it simmer while with some fresh ground black pepper and celery salt, until dinner time.
