Well, at least for another half-hour, PST. I remember my parents flying the giant carp banners when I was young. Back in the days when 4/4 was Girls Day and 5/5 was Boys Day. I wonder what happened to those banners?

Still working through the tidal wave of work (day job), work politics resulting from the complete revamp of the business, as well as a really neat commish and the usual day-to-day tasks and dog-responsibilities. One of the results of this is that I'm finally posting my pics from the -last- Border Collie Rescue Funday this evening-- which is three days away from the -next- BCR Funday. Whug. I could use a break, but one isn't likely until sometime this fall.

I haven't organized a number of photos yet...in the meantime, have a happy Apache!

I'll do a combined Funday post, as well as a chronicle of my hillside planting project, in the next few days (mostly for my own record).

Oh, and we had cool people at work last weekend! Pics of that soon, too! (Obscure hint: it was a Day job!)

Oh, yes-- she's easily the most emotionally complex animal I've ever encountered. She can be very unhappy at times and I have -no- idea why usually.

Also, she is part demon:

Notice how worried the other dogs look (including the puppy on top of her). She's not taken as seriously as she thinks she should.

I always wondered why you chose border collies as your choice of dog.

I didn't think I was ready to get another husky so soon after Frieda. Huskies are still my favorite breed, but I'd always liked border collies and was interested in the limitless possibility for different kinds of training and activity work with the "smartest" breed. Mostly what I learned is that "smart" definitely doesn't mean "easier". BC's are complex dogs that need a steady amount of both mental and physical stimulation.
