Christmas stuff

furtechI'm behind on posts and getting behinder and behinder with each day...
Over the years I have worked to minimize the gift-exchanging madness that our group used to go through. For the most part, I don't need more stuff...but I do appreciate the spirit of the season and the need to show each other how much they value friendships. At this point, my good friends are copacetic about this and we have dinners and get-togethers (lots of food) to celebrate the season.
I still buy gifts for my neices and nephews and some kids of friends; presents are very much a part of the season for kids (you know you're old when you start to genuinely appreciate getting gifts of clothing). The dogs get gifts, too-- but they're so spoiled that they hardly notice (and usually hate the santa hats). I buy myself one large for-me gift: coincidentally, I know exactly what I want every year.
I commissioned Georg Williams (who did the PetSmart charity art this year) to do pictures of Rondo and Apache and Frieda , plus a duo of Rondo and Apache (above). He does a wonderful job capturing their personalities and (after questioning me about details) managed Frieda's half-blue eye perfectly!
