BCR Funday June 2007

Took my last day off from costuming and went to the Border Collie Rescue Funday out in El Mirage (middle of nowhere, USA). I wondered how many people would show up when the weather report predicted temps around 100 and my car thermometer topping 102. Not to worry: lots of people and dogs-- possibly because this was also the farewell party of a very active, longtime member of BCR.



Though topping a hundred degrees, the air was dry and the area was very comfortable. Here's a guy with everything he needs : a ball, a pool and his pals. There was a very graceful, slender foster dog there today. His name is griffen!



Rondo was ready.



Basically a great day off! I'm all re-set and ready to get cracking on the final stretch of construction!

Poor Rondo and that black coat in the heat. Did *looks at the first pic* he end up in the pools eventually? I can't tell the difference between them all. I've never had any exp. with the border Collies except in meeting YappyFox's Bandit on a few occasions. I know the te few Labradors my family had would search out water and just soak it up. No matter if its out of a hose or if they are by the lake. You could never keep them out of it. In fact, you had to lock them up when washing the car just so you could get it done in a timely manner.

No, Rondo hasn't figured out kiddie pools yet. And the air was so dry that the temp felt more like the low 90's. Still, when it comes to frisbee, he'd play under -any- condition.

A friend of mine is letting him try out their pool this summer, so we'll see. I think he'll like it once he gets the chance to try it (he has no problems romping in creeks and ponds)

*laughs* Ok. Now it makes me wonder if he does and you get one for the house, if you're going to be up to wet dog romping through the house. But anyway.. Cool.
