Here are two dog-videos I was pointed to recently that I really enjoyed.

The first is a fantastic canine-freestyle (dog-dancing) routine that is somewhat famous now. Performed to "You're the One that I Want" it features Rookie and Carolyn Scott-- two stars of the canine freestyle circles. Absolutely amazing choreography and movement! (Thanks for the heads-up, [livejournal.com profile] tori04! You were right!)

Carolyn and Rookie make it look easy, but that two and a half minute song had to be broken down beat by beat, then movements designed for those beats, then Rookie needed to be trained for each movement (those that he didn't already know) and then the whole thing put together. The dog has to remember the whole routine-- with just the subtlest hints or whispered cue from Carolyn. Incredible.

This second video may only be funny to border collie/agility owners, but it cracks me up (you'll love this one, Eric)! So simple, yet so funny! Just clips of dogs at the start of an agility event, well-edited. Plus, excellent choice of music! (<--one of my all-time favorite bands, "The Clash"!)

*laugh* I love hor he can't go between her legs without his tail wrapping around her legs as he's wagging it so much. I love watching freestyle

Yup, am planning to go this time. I'm hoping some of my guild mates will as well, but very few are local. You thinking about going?

Several of us are talking about going if we can get tickets. I'm just worried that-- after last year's debacle-- they'll sell out in an hour.

I think, the coolest dog video ever is still this one:

I saw this recently on television! I'm just amazed that a bulldog has that much balance/agility! Most bulldogs I've seen have trouble not tipping over...

That was very very cute, but looked SO hard to do.

I love the guy pressing the dog's butt down and the butt keeps rising!

The ever-rising butt is truly amazing...almost mechanical in the motion. That's why some fun matches have agility "Winner" and an agility "Winner That Isn't a Border Collie" award.
