Enough about my achey knee! (I never realized what a whiner I could be!) While recup'ing (and avoiding taxes), I did some oddball googling and found a couple of very different werewolf references.

The goofy one:
Back in the late 70's, the rock band KISS made a terrible movie called "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park" This is apparently a truly horrible movie, made by the folks at Hanna Barbara (so you can imagine how bad a match this was). However... at one point the members of KISS duke it out with these bizarre albino werewolves. Totally doofy.

kissvsww

Here's a teeny video clip of the "battle"

The cool one:
The second werewolf bit is a band called "Goldfrapp". Alison Goldfrapp (after whom the band is named) uses a lot of animal masks in her videos, including some neat stag/reindeer heads and, for the song, "Train", has a group of hot, bikini-clad dancers wearing werewolf masks . Woof. Make my day!

woof

There just can't be enough fabulous werewolf dancers as far as I'm concerned.

{gryn} I remember the KISS amusement park werewolves - they were off-the-shelf Don Post werewolf masks :) I had one until rubber rot finally took it's toll ... I want to say that they were all supposed to be robots but it's been a long, long time since I saw it.

I can believe that both references are off-the-shelf...but at least they're both snouty-styled werewolves (as opposed to the Paul Naschy-styles/hyperpilosic ones).

I have lost all respect for Paul Stanley thanks to that video. The maks on the Goldfrapp picture are also off-the-shelf. I have it in brown and in black.

PS: You should contact Goldfrapp about appearearing at FC. :)

Cool on the mask: I'd only be jealous if the mask you have came with a bikini-clad dancer, tho'.

That would just be freaky! You might as well like the werewolves in "Dog Soldiers"

Heh, I've heard of Kiss Meets the Phantom so many times. I must see it someday. Hopefully it won't turn out to be as much deep hurting as the Star Wars Holiday Special...

And yes, the world needs more bikin werewolf dancers. LOL furries ;)

Funny you should mention the Star Wars Holiday Special ... Just the other day I was reading about something even more obscure and unseen by the light of day ...

The unfinished and unaired A Very Star Wars Christmas.

Filling the TV gap between Wookiees and Ewoks are cute and fuzzy Wampas ...

Damn, I hadn't heard of that one. I would've thought Lucas would have learned his lesson from the first special, but then again he did sign off on those dreadful ewoks movies.

You can find clips on Youtube: the dialogue makes the SWCS sound good by comparison. REALLY good. Not only is the writing of KMtP bad, but none of the band members can act...they gave the band insipid "personalities" (the bird-guy only squawks throughout the film; the cat-guy is one continuous stream of cat-puns)...and then apparently they did some over-dubbing because the band members delivered the lines so badly.

dood! I've totally seen Phantom of the Park! It was filmed at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. I'm not sure Six Flags owned it back then though. I also remember the original mascots of Magic Mountain. They were these giant furry "trolls" that looked more like poofy blobs.

Ms. Goldfrapp is a self-confessed lover of doggies.

The video for her song "Strict Machine" includes anthro-Malamutes-in-suits. Raaar!

There's another video where the drummer and keyboardist are wearing really nice stag heads. Not sure if they were made for the video or rented, but they look cool!

Saw the anthro huskies: from publicity photos I've come across they may actually be her own dogs.

I remember that KISS movie. It was the beginning of the downfall of the band. Gene Simmons was talking about it on Behind The Music on VH1. I think they even had voice actors dubbed over the band members dialogue. I remember it being on primetime TV, and my mom wouldn't let me watch it.

...and yes. I vote for Goldfrapp for the next FC!

One article about the film talks about how the first drafts of the script were "too violent" for kids...so this one is REALLY dumbed-up in ways that only HB (or maybe Sid and Marty Kroft) could do.

Been meaning to talk to you. I have this idea for a film with robots and werewolves fighting. Could be stupidly huge or hugely stupid, but at least it'd have werewolves.

I also came across a low-budget film (very low budget) that was about an incarnation of Anubis that appears to kill teenagers (basically Texas Chainsaw with a cheap mask). Bad, bad, bad.

Wasn't there a Clark Ashton Smith short story about werewolves and robots?

I do enjoy Cinema con Queso if it's bad enough. ;)
