Procrastinating on the year-summary post...
[No spoilers: this is just from watching a few trailers]

The good: MUCH better character designs than their previous film ("Valiant"--hideous designs where *everything* looked like a stupid pigeon, even the villainous German falcon). Mostly terrific voice acting (or maybe I just like Andy Dick).

There are three wolf characters (from various fables) who play almost exactly the same roles as the hyenas in Lion King, including an "Ed" character (boss-wolf, dumb-wolf, crazy-wolf).

The bad: One of the wolves has a great character design, but sounds like a doofus thug henchman (the kind that says "duh?" a lot); based on his design, he should sound more like a sinister Ricardo Montalban.

Because the film is CG and kind of stupid-looking, I'll have my work cut out for me trying to drag Zor to see it.

I think I'll probably be going to see it. I have to wonder which three fables the wolves are from, off the top of my head I can only think of two, the little red riding hood wolf and one from three little pigs.

There are a bunch of wolves as villains: "The wolf and the Seven Little Kids" (goats); "The Wolf and the Fox"; "Peter and the Wolf"; the Reynard/Isingrim cycle; Aesop's fables. Not sure how detailed they'll get: could just be three generic wolf-villains (though wearing granny-clothes means at least one is RRH-based).

What they do? Model the "lead" wolf off "Jenner" from "Secret of NIMH"? Give him a goatee-thing in that screen shot and.. there you go.

I don't mind that so much: he's a typical Andreas Deja (Scar, etc.) styled villain like Steele from "Balto". Love Deja stuff!

Speaking of furry critters... are you thinking of possibly going to Anime LA at the end of next month? I have a new furred outfit I'm working on for the masquerade, and would love to get your input if you are able to drop by ^_^

Oh awesome! Well, if you want a specific day/time, I'll be in the furry for masquerade (and probably walking around the hall an hour or so before, maybe)... so I'd say Saturday, the 27th. If you want to see the actual show, that starts at 8 PM.

I think Sionna is going to ALA as well, according to her LJ. =D

That would be really great! Ket me know what your plans are closer to the date, and we'll certainly plan something out. I will be at the convention site starting Thursday, and will be leaving Sunday afternoon. I really don't know how hectic Saturday will be (it probably will, considering I am also giving friends cosplay photoshoots in addition to all this pre-masquerade stuff), but lunch/dinner sounds great by me!

They had a couple guys portray the main character... and the first one looked tuff enuff.... until he opened his mouth and sounded like a weak Peter Lorre,... :D !
