K0he Sci Fi Channel is having a "made-for" festival of films tomorrow (Sunday): a bad-movie bonanza! Looks like apocolyptic future + mutants! Sounds like a great day to do some heavy-duty house-cleaning!

Right now I'm watching another "made-for", a giant monster made-for called, "Reptilian". Ridiculous plot, bad dialogue and one-take acting. Great stuff! And even though the monster is bad CG (boo!), at least they show it a LOT (as opposed to trying to hide its mediocraty with flash-cuts).

EDIT: Oh, now I get it! "Reptilian" is the re-named piece of Korean cheese, "Yongary"! That explains the good miniatures and bad mattes! They should have stuck with foam goliaths!

Yeah, I rented Reptilian a while back. (No guilt: it was free as part of "2 for 1 day" at the video house.)

Definitely was bummed at the CG monster. The dialog features some of the worst cliches ever! That plus the bad overacting (plus the bizarre flying packs) made it amusingly watchable.

Thanks for the tip about today's Sci-Fi schedule, too!

I love it when the Sci Fi Channel does festivals like this: it's the perfect background to clean up the house with! Cleaning distracts one just enough to trick you into thinking the films have nice, tight plots. Nothing to do about the dialogue, but at least there's no danger of getting sucked into story or dialogue.
