Halloween costume!

Not mine, obviously-- not when I have a obedient victim loving dog to throw one on!



Rondo is an NFL football referee! If you've ever seen him do his circling and barking schtick, you'd understand why this costume is so -him-. I just threw on shoulderpads and my football jersey and put some blacking under my eyes to complete the costume set.

Huge thanks and props to Elayne for taking a Friday night off to sew this up! And Rondo was SOOoooOooo tolerant about this. He seemed to enjoy the attention (thank goodness) and fistfulls of people-food didn't hurt either. Here's Rondo in action!

I (well, Elayne) used the slightly stretchy stuff with the thinner stripes (can't remember where we got that one). It's pretty form-fitting-- I was amazed Rondo put up with it!

I wish I could find the picture of the actual costume that the effects shop made: it was foam-latex over a unitard and worn by a whippet. The costume worked, the dog was fine-- but a dog does not walk with meneace, so they never actually used the costume in the film (I think it was Aliens3).

Om my gosh, that would be so cool! And I bet you could get a border collie to do menacing, sort of- they do look sort of menacing when they herd sheep and give the eye!
