Sekrit LAConIV masquerade entry!
Aug. 28th, 2006 11:40 amFoster's Home For Imaginary Friends, featuring appearances by Cheese and Blake Superior!

I made Blake Superior (a Foster's Home villain of sorts) and Eduardo, the purple, potato-eating monster. Wayne-sama made incredible puppet-versions of Wilt and Coco (his Coco is Fabulous!), plus a stand-in Bloo and Cheese. Mich and Kim made Bloo and Cheese and Mac and Richie Wildebrat and Lydia made Frankie. Henry did a fantastic job on the soundtrack!
The last of the Big Three was the 64th World Science Fiction Convention in Los Angeles. LAcon IV was *huge*. (More on the con itself later...) Mich and Kim *reeeeealy* wanted to pull off a "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends" group and LAcon seemed the perfect venue for this. Perfect for me, too-- Eduardo is a logistical nightmare.
I'll go into construction stories later...but for now I'll say that I had a ton-O-fun doing this costume set. We made a lot of little kids *very* happy, especially when we put in an appearance at the kid's programming room (which was amazing and I'll go into in another post). They adored us!
Here's a much better picture of the group (linked because everyone's already seen this one)
Here are pics of Blake Superior, with Mich as Richie:

I definitely over-committed this year: three (technically five) different costumes for three major masquerades (CostumeCon, AX and Worldcon). I have one major costume to finish up and then it's time for a long rest.

Date: 2006-08-29 07:54 pm (UTC)I can't say anything about those creations that hasn't already been said, so I'll just stand back and admire.
Hope the rest of life is treating you just as well, pal. And I also hope to catch up with you again one of these days.
