When I got back home the other night, I found a pair of large mushrooms growing in the back lawn. Two days later they transformed into something hardly recognizable from their original forms:

Not sure if they're edible, but their shingle-y surface makes me think so. I just can't believe that they're the same mushrooms!

The weather up north was very autumnal: crisp and clear. And I was just in time to pick some green persimmons (I prefer them when they're still pretty unripe: I like the tartness and crisp texture). Forgot to gather bay-tree seeds and seedlings tho'.

Hey, Iisaw! Can I bug you for some of those white-oak acorns (no holes if possible!) and seedlings?

Sure thing! It hasn't been that great a year for acorns so far but there are a few around. I could do seedlings too... if I can figure out the best way to get them to you. I guess they wouldn't be hurt by a couple of days in the mail.
