Spidah!

Slow news day...

...So. Roz tells me there's a humongous spider in her backyard. Roz poked it with a stick! Neat! Let's go see!

Spidah!

Yeow! She IS huge!!!

Shex-say spider love nest!

She calls it her "Thunderdome" because...

Because two creepy-crawly things enter, but only one leaves?

Ahhhhh!!! Someone get a tissue!

::shudder::

Tissue?! You're far braver than I! I'm supportive of spiders, etc. that are outside and don't interact with my body, but if one were to dispose of this baby, I'd've suggested a club or small firearm.

Oh most definitely. I just left it as a vague implication of killing the bastard so I don't offend anyone who is against killing spiders. Personally, I'd say flamethrower from Aliens would be the weapon of choice.

Unfortunately, down here everything's waiting to burst into flames. Maybe use a CO2 fire extinguisher to freeze it, then nuke it from orbit...

Guess who's hand it is in that photo? It ain't the person holding the camera!

[identity profile] furtech.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Good thing, too! My meaty-fist scared the poor thing back into her luv-nest! You're lucky it was a flash or the shaking would have been more obvious!

One thing's clear: it's officially spider-season!

[identity profile] diadexxus.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
what TYPE of spider is it??

-J

[identity profile] martes.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the generic orb-web spider. That's by far the biggest one I've seen, however!

[identity profile] melskunk.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
Wow! That is one lovely beautiful spider :)

[identity profile] n2kenai.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
O.O *runs and hides*

[identity profile] okojosan.livejournal.com 2005-07-20 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
That's an awesome spider. Such pretty markings!

[identity profile] furtech.livejournal.com 2005-07-21 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
We knew you'd like her! I'm just glad she's in Zor's yard and not mine! I'm still creeped out by those ground-spiders covered in spiderlings...ech.

::scoots way away from the desk:: NO. SPIDERS.

Lance-san, I have baked a new batch of those cookies for you, and I copied the recipe too! But I lost your addy. Would you email it to me?

D'oh!

[identity profile] furtech.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry about that! I was trying to figure out if I had any arachniphobes on my list...should have put her behind a cut! Sorry!

Ack! Email on way!

[identity profile] c-eagle.livejournal.com 2005-07-21 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
WOW!

and coincidentally, I ran into the most spiders ever during my jog last night.... must be this weather 8>

[identity profile] furtech.livejournal.com 2005-07-21 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you *literaly* run into spiders on your jog? *Ack!* Roz and I hate that! When we run into a full-orb, w/occupant, you could see us do the spider-in-my-hair dance. Quite lively.

On the other hand, we -love- it when we see joggers on the trail: that means the way has been cleared~!

(and yes, it's coming on spider season. On some walks we get so festooned with stray webs that we look like refugees from the Haunted Mansion!)

heheheh!

What a kick!

Yeah.. serves me right for joggin' at 9:30 in a grove of trees with just a few flickering streetlights around ... ;>
I was desperate!

Of course there's the scattered ones here and there, but they did seem more proliferated the other night, and once I did hit a whole new web with occupant, yeah... Ya come up on them in a full clip and those really no time to veer... You just hope ya hit 'em off center (yep.. whew!)... and that the occupant doesn't tag along.... and, that you aren't trundling along with your jaw hanging open... ^v^ *pfeh!*
