Leonids FAIL! Or..."35"

furtechQ: You know what the difference between the Perseid meteor shower and the Leonid shower is?
A: 35 degrees.

iisaw, three border collies and I set up in his front yard much like we had several months ago when we saw a great Perseid show there. The peak of the Leonids wasn't untill after midnight, but we figured we'd just hang out and wait for the show to grow. I was dressed in thermals, had a good jacket, ear muffs and a thick blanket (Iisaw was similarly prepared).
After about a half hour I mentioned to Iisaw that I set midnight as the cut-off time (to go home).
Another twenty minutes and I declared 10pm as a good time to cut it off (only a couple of piddly streaks so far).
Ten minutes later and I totally wussed out. I couldn't feel my feet. My kidneys were two, big pudding-pops. Iisaw, who had gotten little sleep the night before and had driven from Oakhurst to L.A. at 5am that morning was quick to agree.
I'm so not-hardcore.
HUGE kudos to Brian for setting his alarm clock and actually getting up at 2am to see the show! I'm glad you had a good time!
