Done and done

Done with politics and voting for another election, thanks to touch screens and early voting (in California). Early voting is a blessing for disorganized folk like me: I can get it out of the way and not have to worry about forgetting or scheduling (like being in Seattle on Nov. 2). Better than absentee balloting: no forms to send in, no stamps, no deadlines.

Now I can REALLY be irritated by all the political advertising!

Oooh, really? We can vote early? I got all my voter stuff in the mail today. I need to go through it, but I'd love to get the voting over with ASAP.

Yeah-- look on the inside cover (or table of contents) of the official sample ballot: there are a number of places around town. You need to take your sample ballot along with you (the one that has the absentee ballot form as part of the cover). Here:

You want a confusing ballot? Check out the BUTTERFLY BALLOT that over two-thirds of Ohio will be using to cast their votes. Didn't we learn our lesson about this four years ago?

(And here's a story from the WASHINGTON TIMES explaining some of the hang-ups Ohio and other states are having with their voting systems.)

have you seen that one about 71 with Christopher Reeve yet...? Man, that is spooky.... not one of the annoying ones, just caught me by surprise... *gulp*

...being in Seattle on Nov. 2

How long are you going to be up in Seattle for? Unfortunately, due to my work permit paperwork being in now, I'm stuck on the Canadian side of the border comes through - I don't suppose I could interest you in a trip north of the border? :>

I should be there until the 10th of November. I'm not sure if I'll be able to take a trip north: this time it's part business, part slacking. I love Vancouver: in the winter they let dogs on the beach! Pretty city, great food. The main temptation for my travelling there was somewhat dampered by Amazon-- British books.

Have you seen the TV ad for that campaign? There's a hideously sad fursuit :(
