A very good friend needs a favor and I'd like to help him out. He has a start-up company who produced a neat weather app which is today’s Amazon FREE-APP-OF-THE-DAY for Android devices.

Weather Rabbit

Could you do me a favor and download the app and-- most importantly-- review it? (Did I mention it's free today?)

They're a great group and the app is ground-breaking (if you know programming). Plus, it's a great weather resource since it utilizes Wunderground (which is has always been a terrific site). I'd love to see their hard work rewarded. If you have kids, they'll adore it!

Also, if you could share this with anyone you know with an android phone, that would be a HUGE help.

Their team will really appreciate this!

That is SO CUTE! If it were on iOS it would be an instant buy for me. I have a nice weather app but it is not CUTE. Also, completely rabbitless. Though, come to think of it, the poor bun would probably be suffering through miserably hot weather right now and I'd feel awful guilty. ;D

Uh, I JUST saw this post. (After midnight, so now it's July 2.) I DO have an Android phone, but as it's not free now... :/ I'm not willing to pay $1.99 to try an app when I don't know if I'm going to want to keep it and use it. :( (Trial version apps or non-fully-functional apps that are free are very helpful in that regard.)

They do have and iOS version-- but you need to get it at the Apple iTunes App store. It's $1.99. I just didn't want to ask people to dish out for a favor-- personally, I think it's worth the money (I paid for my copy and have been amused by the rabbit). Also, Calicougar did the character design!

There is a free version that is always free-- it's just ad-supported:

Weather Rabbit Free (http://www.amazon.com/Rabbx-Inc-Weather-Rabbit-Free/dp/B00C5V9WXS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372757291&sr=8-1&keywords=weather+rabbit+free)

Download it...review it...and if you don't like it/find the ads annoying, you can just delete it! Thanks!

I saw it yesterday and thought it was cute. But I always research Amazon free apps, as they're often spyware laden and the permissions listed on the Amazon page aren't always the permissions the app asks for. You might want to tell your friend that if his app wants permissions like knowing what other apps my devices running, he should explain in the description exactly why his app needs that info to run.

Weather Rabbit-- as it was designed-- keeps track on only one thing: where you are. That's one of the neat things about the app: it is interactive with your location.

One thing I've learned from watching how these guys put together this app is: Amazon is the eight-thousand pound gorilla. If you want your app in their store, you play by their rules. And WR is strictly in line with the Amazon permissions. The free version does have ads and whatever tracking ad companies do-- but these are the known, legit companies, not the sneaky ones.

FWIW, Cary is involved with this company and WR-- if that would assuage your concerns. You know how he feels about spying and sneaky, bad things in software and apps.
