Coke: the REAL thing!

Went on a Japanese Market safari with [livejournal.com profile] martes, [livejournal.com profile] okojosan and [livejournal.com profile] octantis down in the Gardena-Torrance area.

One of the things I tried was Blue Sky organic cola. I'm usually skeptical about "organic" products, but the ingredient list had one intriguing element: cane sugar as the sweetener. IMO, Coke made a big mistake when they switched from cane sugar to corn syrup. I used to like Coke when I was a kid...but can't pallet it now. This cola tastes uncannily like the old cane-sugar Coke! Wonderful-- like the Coke you get in Hawaii (still uses cane sugar as far as I know).

So for you Coke die-hards, check this stuff out! Highly recommended!

and if you don't want to go that far sometimes

They have it in Whole Foods Market too... right beside their own brand (365) cane sugar cola, which we stock constantly.
You are SO right on Coke making a mistake with the change..
If you get the chance, try the Whole Foods brand non-gmo cola also.. I think it's even better than the Blue Sky one, though I like the Blue Sky substitute for Dr. Pepper a lot :9

best wishes!

Cool--not that I *need* to find a sugary-cola to get hooked on. Maybe if I treat it like a fine wine...

They have "Cane Soda" at Trader Joe's around here. About $1/bottle, so kind of expensive and sold in four packs of bottles. Have been curious to try it.

This stuff was normal cola-priced: about 65 cents a can. Also, see above re:c_eagle's ct about WFM.
