I'm annoyed when people use another person's journal to launch their own agenda against whatever. How in the world did they even find my post? If anyone knows how to close a thread without losing all the comments, let me know: I'm just hitting the screen all comments button for now...

Hey, I am glad you posted that. It is good to be warned about such things. Sorry you had that annoyence...

Hey, on a brighter note, maybe on a future walk, I can bring my Golden Retriever!

you can make it private that way you won't lose the comments and no one else can see it

"Private" means that only you can see it, friends-only will allow only people that YOU list as friends. Or there are filters, but that's a bit more complicated :)

When that's happened to me, what I did was deleted the comments that were going off on the tangent I wanted nothing to do with and banned the person who was trying to hijack the my journal.

You could make the post so that it is "private". Only you would be able to see the thread, and all the comments would still remain.
