Were-politicians...

I'm counting down the days until a number of my ordinarily tolerant, balanced and moderate friends go back to what passes as normal. I do not enjoy seeing people I care for turn into rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth politicians. All you people posting political rhetoric? That IS what you are-- politicians. Look it up. The prions of society.

I am so with you there. :P

Exactly why I haven't been logging in Facebook. I'm not a tolerant person, and will cheerfully bump people off my friends' list for having views about my Big Issues opposite of mine. *shrug*

On the other hand I don't post much about it myself, I don't think. I reblog some stuff on Tumblr but most I just try to stay away from.

I've been quiet, politically this season. Facebook hasn't, but I have been.. so far, but one of these days I( may snap. Or Gloat like a Boss if the election swings my way.

All human interaction is politics.

That said, I look forward to the day that the Democratic Party become a leftist party again (instead of a center-right party) and the Republican Party figures out whether it wants to be libertarian or totalitarian (because right now they're working both angles).

All human interaction is politics.

That's like declaring that all fact is fiction (ie, because nothing can be proven absolutely). While technically true, it's a pointless declaration.

Plus, ten yard penalty for sneaking in political rhetoric in a post decrying exactly that sort of thing!

I agree. I'm just trying to hang into there until its all over so I can avoid people's nastiness. I don't want to lose friends over this election :(

I used to get really up in arms about that kind of stuff, but pretty much am 'feh' about it for the last 8 or so years. Don't get me wrong, I still find the running of our country important, I just don't see putting so much energy into it or getting myself all worked up over it to the point a lot of people do.
