False alarm! They were just celebrating having signed the lease for the space. This was just a meet-and-greet opportunity and a chance to see the new space (literally, "space"). Mea culpa!

I'm jealous that you guys have such an awesome place! :O I remember your photos.

I don't even think I'd know where to start with like 97% of the stuff, I'd just walk around being all @__@.

You'd be surprised at what you could use (plus they give/require a class for the more complex or dangerous equipment). I'm sure you'd find something amazing to make for your pet/art-business. Stuff like laser-cut cards or charms/tags to figurines or computer-cut wood pieces...

That's... Odd. I was just talking to folks at the Menlo Park facility (I'm a member) and they were saying that tear-down STARTS this weekend, there was no mention of an open house and they said it will be months before they put in walls and equipment and such and it opens...

My bad! It's literally the -building tour-. They're celebrating that they've signed the lease and are inviting folks in to see the space, before they start to tear-out/build-in. Fortunately (?), no one seems to have been able to make it anyways...

At least there would have been cool people and *snacks*...

(Teach me to read flyers more carefully! I was just going off the tweet)
