More Pups

Check out the rest the pics!

I needed a puppy fix. Badly.

Fortunately, [livejournal.com profile] iisaw and Carol have just acquired the perfect prescription for me!

The puppy formerly known as "Crescent" is now the newest resident of Casa Coyote! In the three weeks since I last saw her (see previous puppies post), she's quadrupled in size! Holy cow, she's a gangly little dog now! No more puppy-patty! But still adorable!

Tas (pronounced, "tass") has a practically perfect personality! She is bold and has no fear of the bigger dogs. She -does- get out of their way when they're romping, but she'd love nothing more than to romp with them. When the coyotes howled over the ridge, she headed inside pronto. Plenty of common sense!

When we met friends for lunch, Tas went into uber-puppy mode and destroyed a nasty styrofoam cup in the cutest way possible. She kept up with R0ndo, Tay and Apache on a long, wet walk-- but she was shivering from the rain and cold by the time we got back.

The best part of the weekend was when Apache finally deigned to notice her: the other two dogs did their best to ignore her. Apache is the devil, but when it comes to puppies, she's remarkably gentle. She will wrestle with them all evening, jaw-fencing and dog-judo. There's lots of growling and flashing teeth, but clearly both of them are having fun. Tas learned that her most effective moves are the puppy-paw-down-throat and butt-slamming.

The HSUS told us they wouldn't give us more animals without a kennel license .. LOL!

What animals do you have? No dog, right? I thought the part of your story of your mom wanting to pet your sister's dog was sweet.

so glad you liked our tale ^v^

Heya!
We have two cats right now... we've had several over the years, and 4 or 5 dogs too while I was growin' up..
We've pondered getting one ourselves, but in reality it would be more work for me in this case, and maybe even really unfair to the cats at this point.. but it's still something in our discussions :}

She loves pettin' animals *big grin*... and my brother has a lil poodle she loves to pet also.. it sits in her arms for HOURS, rolling back and loving the attention. It's great to see her enjoy it so much! Dunno of she could handle walking a dog or all the intense care they take, at the moment.. but luckily we have a few we can visit!

Yes-- cats are nicely independent, yet affectionate. Can't have them here because of the coyote problem (and I hate keeping indoor cats-- we both go crazy). Nice that you have dogs you can visit. It was neat reading how how happy your mom was to pet your sister's dog. If Apache ever settles down I'd love to train her to be a therapy dog visiting senior centers. I wish it were possible for nursing homes or senior care facilities to allow communal pets.

Indeed... we've lost many cats over the years to those, and possibly also owls... :/

You may be onto something there! *nods about potassium too as you said, in the opposite effect*
I read your other note about what happened (with the calcium breakage)... Apparently it was sodium this time around.. still I hope it heals up as soon as possible.... :|

Tas is going to be a sweet demon dog. She's already pretty sweet (and her mom is the sweetest bc I've ever met), but I'm sure Eric will spoil her into demonhood. Considering what her parents look like, she should be gorgeous!

I post the videos I took of Apache and Tas playing: adorable!

Your strong maternal instinct surprises me.

Yeah, it surprises me, too. But puppies do that to everyone. Maybe if I grunt more when playing with them I will appear more manly-man!

Are her eyes really blue?

What a cutie!
(Don't let Miss LLB hear me saying that,,,)

[identity profile] furtech.livejournal.com 2009-03-02 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Puppies have puppy-immunity from many incursions. I'm sure LLB would understand. Tas still has some of her blue puppy-eyes. They'll likely turn to a light gold over the next few months if her parents are any indication.

Tas == Crescent?

[identity profile] furtech.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
No, Tas=Arrow (see the mark on the back of her neck?) Arrow/Tas was my favorite of the day. I was very happy when I found out Carol and Eric changed their minds and took her home.
