EF2008-Friday

Click here for the FRIDAY PHOTOSET

Friday was my "free" day: no panels or other responsibilities, so I hooked up with Aeto and Frysco and headed into the city. Suhl is a small-medium German town: it has groceries, a mall and a shopping district as well as modern cinemas and other conveniences (discount stores, electronics, flush-toilets). I was here last year: the big changes this year were that the cathedral I saw last year was being heavily renovated and the Boar Hunt fountain was now open and working.

As with last year, I bought a bunch of German chocolates, including an Absinthe-filled one. More wine, also-- dry whites for the weird family and sweet ones for me (ice wines and nothing dryer than a trockenbeerinauslese).

Lunch-place was chosen for its mascot (Flame Wolf!) as much as the food. I got a tiny half-chicken and (possibly unwisely) a raw pork sausage sandwich (looked *so00ooo* good!). I keep forgetting to take pictures -before- we start eating. I'm a lousy restaurant blogger. Oh, and the pork sausage was *wonderful*.

I got back in time to catch part of the costuming roundtable: there are a lot of very talented costumers in Europe! Furvan and Tioh showed us their amazing head-forming technique and animatronics; there was a really cute hyena and any number of other great costumes.

The lobby was jumping well into the night. Even the dance was going strong (packed dance floor) at 3:25 AM, which is shortly before I went to bed.
