Yes-- yes, it is! To my mind, Phil and Kaja are the best MC's in masquerade circles these days. A few years ago at ComiCon, the crowd got really rude and rowdy: some members were chucking plastic bottles [empty at least] and glow sticks from the back of the room and making smart-ass remarks. Phil actually managed to get them under control again. Now he's proactive and the shows are fantastic for participant and audience alike. He's amazing. And only Phil can get away with corny jokes like that...
Yes-- we got the Costume Designer's Guild Award and Best in Show. We were floored-- the show had some amazing costumes (including a dead-on Iron Man and Blair's Rock monster).
Wonderful skit! I love it, but then again I always felt sorry for the wargs. Sounds like it was a great success, so congratz! Also I would have had a hard time wearing the costume after finding a friend like that residing in it. I would have freaked out at the first stray hair that tickled against me. :P
As I said, it took a lot of nerve-steeling to get back into it that first time. The -good- thing about a black widow is that at least there probably isn't any -other- creature residing there. But yeah-- every time I saw or felt a stray hair inside I twitched. I'm not arachnophobic, but I sure don't like 'em.

And presented by THE Phil Foglio, if I'm not mistaken.

You're gonna have to change the name of the act!
