Cheapass Quickie Update...
Mar. 23rd, 2012 10:33 am...because I've been grouching about people abandoning LJ and I've been no better with my lack of posts. I haven't had the right combination of active brain cells and time when I read LJ. Comments require less thought and planning (and I completely apologize to those I've commented to-- mea culpa).
Work is into the home stretch. Next 1.5 months will be hell. But if done right, it will be the funnest hell ever!
Bullet point notes:
• Dogs are relatively happy. Longer walks attempting to make up for my gluttony makes them happy.
• Discovered what the difference between $17/bag Fox Farms Potting Soil and $6 potting soil is: Fox Farms smells like rich, loamy soil; the cheap stuff smells like it came from a steer's ass. Correction: worse-- like it came from a zombie steer's backside.
• R0ndo also discovered the difference. All over him. Thought it was on me from moving the sacks...took several showers, changed clothes, and still smelled rotton steer poop. Finally figured out that R0ndo was the key. He thinks he smells gorgeous.
• Research for some spider puppet props. I admire spiders, though when I am surprised by them I profess unease. Like walking into orb-weavers or finding them in my shoe or walking across my face while I sleep. Not arachnophobic, though. However, looking at image after image of spiders, spider nests and spider bites is making me twitchy.
• Bats are cool.
• Found best Mexican restaurant near work...driven past it a thousand times and didn't even know a restaurant was there!
• Martes' Mom and bro' in town: discovered that if she and I team up, we can beat her son. Ha!
• Finally met person doing music for Work project: discovered that professional musicians have amazing stories to tell.
• My friend's puppy is now big enough to put Apache's entire head in his mouth.
• St. Pat's BCR Funday was much food and fun. Above puppy still amazed at being a husky amongst dozens of border collies.
• Footy-tooty organic restaurant had only Stevia for fake sweetener, but also served "facon", which is vegan bacon. Stuff looks like it came out of Play-Doh Fun Factory, but tastes like "Bacos"
• Bonsai class still fun. Members amused at my obsession with oaks.
• FC was fun.
Done!
If anyone wants elaborations or pics from any of the above, just comment on it. I'll get to the actual posts eventually, or maybe not...
