Late Nights and Puppies
Jul. 3rd, 2011 03:37 amCrunch time for a costume project. I finally got to a stopping point about an hour ago. Of course, the dogs had patiently waited for their walk, so I dutifully took them out. The dogs are great: they even suggested a walk around the block instead of driving to one of our usual walking spots (it's still about a mile+...it's a looong block on a hill). I hadn't even considered the immediate neighborhood because there are usually a bunch of disapproving people about. The good thing about walking after 2am is that I can off-leash them in the neighborhood -and- there are no more fireworks going off. R0ndo's okay with them, but 'Patch is -very- uneasy about popping-sounds.

martes. I ordered a Thunder Shirt. Apparently (from several knowledgeable sources with direct experience) they really work quite well. These are snug-fitting vests that calm nervous dogs. I understand the theory behind them and I'm glad someone applied it to a practical product. We will see...
During the patterning phase of the project, I had plenty of company: a friend brought her aged husky (whom I adore) and a couple of spazzy puppies to romp in the yard.

I almost feel like I'm caught up on the costume project: I got a bonus day of work because of the 4th holiday. Looks like I can get to AX tomorrow and see friends and the masquerade!
