San Jose and TechShop Geekery
Jan. 20th, 2011 11:39 amI'm still going through my FC pics...as well as trying to catch up on my posts from 2010. Just saying.
While I was up in San Jose, I left the dogs with my sister-- who is a skilled tracking instructor. They (R0ndo and Apache) spent the weekend tracking and running around the ranch. Not as good as being with me at home, but a lot better than being left at the dog-gulag.

When I picked them up, I ran them around for a while and frisbie'd with R0ndo on the hill. He surprised me by jumping in the trough and cooling down in traditional border collie fashion (he doesn't usually like bath tub-sized bodies of H20). Although this meant a filthy, wet dog on the drive back down to L.A., he was so happy I let him enjoy himself. The local horse did not approve.
Earlier that morning (the Monday after the con), I took
kvogel out to see the Menlo Park TechShop. He was properly a-gog, drooling over the equipment that was available to members. I laughed when I saw this ad on the bulletin board:

This place really -is- the Honeycomb-hideout of nerd geekery!
