Several dog-events that I'm going to cram into a single post...

First up is the Border Collie Funday!

For a change, there were a lot of people and dogs at this event. The weather was gorgeous: cool and breezy with clear skies. Two of Apache's littermates showed up at the event: her brother was keen on the frisbee (for the first time, apparently) and her sister is an angel (apparently she got the sugar and Apache got all the spice). I think three dogs got adopted that day (at least they picked them up at the event).

At the end of the day, someone noticed the plume of smoke rising to the east of us. Since several people either live in that area or have to get home that way, concerned phone calls were made. Fortunately the fire did not affect anyone at the event. Ironically, the officials named this fire "The Sheep Fire". I'm sure all those sheepdogs would have been very excited about that.

Last weekend I was up at Oakhurst to help celebrate a birthday. Boat-making, dirty dogs and Castle.

Tas is slightly taller than Apache now, but still very puppy. They took turns being the dirtiest dog in the general vicinity. Apache won. She managed to accumulate entire ecosystems into her coat.

I got introduced to the television show, "Castle". Kind of neat...not sure if I'm hooked or not yet. One thing was for sure: the writers were definitely west-coast based (writing a show based in NYC). Still, I could easily sit and take in episodes.

Rain on the way! Woo!
