Sett

Finally got my pics from the Norwescon masquerade organized/sized. Thanks for all the ego-prop'ing comments on Sett's successful debut in the Northwest! One of the downsides of entering the masquerade is that the event pretty much becomes my whole weekend. Before the masquerade, I'm totally focused on last-minute fix-ups and trying to polish the routine. The day of the event it's all about rehearsals and more fix-ups. The day after I'm a burnt-out husk. This may only be for solo entries: I never had this much anxiety when I had a partner or participated in a group!

I really wish I had more of a presence of mind to seek out people: I completely missed the Tai Pan party because of masquerade run-throughs and I know there were a lot of people around whom I knew but met at a time when I wasn't in a position to chat (inside big, hairy costume). I'm pretty sure I saw one of [livejournal.com profile] malytwotails costumes there (nice job!) and several people greeted me familiarly whose name/faces I couldn't see clearly because I was in-suit (one of which may have been Maly out-of-costume). Abject apologies to people I inadvertantly dis'd! I did get a couple of chances to have nice chats with Matt Harpold and Andy (whose last name I can never remember-- sorry for the dis!). Now, *those* are people who know how to have fun at -any- convention! Go, Bee-boy!

I did notice that the number of costumes in general were down this year, but not sure about the reason. I also didn't notice the LARP being active this year-- did the Camarilla not have a presence? Oh, those unreliable vampires...

And here are some more pics of the modified Sett. I gave him pupil-less eyeballs; I think they make him more impressive-looking than the more personable pupil'd eyes. Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] calicougar for all her help backstage and to [livejournal.com profile] kvogel for his help with props and emergency superglue deliveries! :
