Sondheim and Politics
Aug. 2nd, 2004 12:42 amI finally saw Sondheim's "A Little Night Music" in a full production last Thursday. Wow-- one of his strongest shows and one that resonates with me on a number of levels. The production (the L.A. Opera) did a marvelous job and this old favorite surged to my favorite shows list once again. Primarily about relationships (like his "Company"), this show is filled with songs that mirror my own life and that of several of my friends. Especially now. Woo-hoo!
Today I went to a Opool at a friend's house and, over burning meat, finally heard the first rational argument supporting Kerry's politics. Unfortunately it's not something easily quantified in a few words (long conversation) and I'd like to do some of my own research first. But still...interesting! I love that group! (It's my old science fiction convention-running group).
