I'd wanted to make a push on the LARP heads this weekend but the rain (as needed and appreciated as it is) isn't going to make it easy. Today I ran a few simple heads in a-b foam: tricky. Normally a simple procedure, the humidity does bad things to the chemicals-- which are very picky about temperature and humidity. The worst is high temp/high humidity. The foam kicks too quickly and then tends to collapse. A "light" foam stunt body we once ran ended up weighing more than the actress under those circumstances. Cold and dry is great: foam kicks slowly and evenly. Cold and wet isn't bad, but can be very unpredictable. Today the only bad thing was that the foam ran a bit dense thank goodness. It's going to be unfun with the gluing and coating tomorrow-- maybe I'll work on the sewing instead...
