I don't know about singing, but apparently he does a lot of mincing and prancing!

He started in the Australian theater/musical theater. He was originally slated for the role down under, but turned it down because he wanted to concentrate on getting his film career started (ie, "X-Men"). He doesn't look as hairy as he does on film (sorry, Cali: it was probably just film-magic!)
