Hey! A completely P*tter-free post!

mmmdonut

Discovered Homer's donuts at 7-11...OMG-- these are the BEST donuts I've ever had! I'm a frosting fiend and the previous winner was the chocolate double-glazed Krispy Kreme donut. But this-- this Quickie Mart Special-- features a glazed donut covered in a thick layer of artificially colored sugar.

Homer would be proud!

PS-- I think the 7-11/Quickie Mart Simpson's Movie promotion is absolutely *brilliant*!

Yeah, there's one here in Seattle, too. I had to guard it on one shift a few days ago (I'll be making an entry), and it was a lot of fun. It's amazing how it turned a convenience store into an honest-to-god tourist attraction. People were coming in just to see the stuff!

Yeah, I was about to say. The doughnought was properly stale too. I picked up a box of Krusty-ohs, uhmm, sugary goodness. Was disappointed that there wasn't any Duff beer.

Save the box! If you don't want it, I do! They sold out of Krusty-Os in a few minutes apparently. There's a 7-11 in Burbank that they actually converted into a Quickie Mart!

That looks awesome, but eating more than one seems foolish! ;) I am a huge donut fan, but more for the fried cake than frosting.

The Qwiki-mart in Seattle is on Denny next to Fisher Plaza (KOMO/
ABC affiliate)at the south side of the Seattle Center, just a couple hunnerd yards from the Space Needle.

I'll see about getting extra boxes. The contents seem to be generic froot loops.

What's the event? And how about a hook up?

I had been feeling a little put out that the Seven-eleven they turned into a Kwik-E-Mart is the one I used to see every day -- I could look down on it from my office window at the old building, and walked past it on my way to and from the bus...

But now I know that the next time you are in Seattle, we have to take you to Top Pot Donuts, so that you can have a truly great donut...

It's for a picnic for my world of warcraft guild (lawlgeek).

I'm going to be staying in Edmonds, so I'm going to be north, but I think we're going into Seattle proper for the picnic (in the rain!)

I don't know if I'll have time to do a meetup, maybe on sunday before I drive home. Email me your number to artyewok at gmail dot com and we can try to work something out :)

I'll miss my local Kwik-E-Mart when it's gone.

At first I thought you put the donuts on the pavement for that picture.

Hehe, I went there and got a "Squishie" when I was still back in my dorm a couple of weeks ago.

It's right by the Space Needle, almost right across the street from the Pacific Science Center. Look for the gas station, it's behind that. If you need more specific directions, ask someone who works at the Needle and I'm sure they can point you at the Kwik-E-Mart, or at least the 7-11 if they hadn't heard about the switchover.

D'oh! I didn't pick up a donut when I was at the Kwik-E Mart because I thought it would be like any other donut! I did, however, manage to get my hands on several Squishee cups, a six pack of Buzz cola and a Radioactive Man comic book. Much love to 7-11 and The Simpsons for this promotion.
