Dark Crystal 2 + Tartakovsky?!!!

I may be last in line with this news, but there will apparently be a sequal to, "The Dark Crystal," the Henson movie that was ground-breaking in terms of special effects and storytelling! Not only that-- but the director will be Genndy Tartakovsky!!! (He's the creator of, "Dexter's Laboratory," "Samurai Jack," and the recent, "Star Wars: Clone Wars.") I know a lot of people who will be excited by this! Sometimes a great project -can- have a great director paired with it (like Burton and, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"). This should really be a neat project!

Related: apparently Tartakovsky is also in development on, "Astro Boy." When everything you create is gold, you get to do dream projects! Very cool that Cartoon Network gave people like him such a long leash! Great for all of us!

I wasnt even born when that film was released, but caught it on TV a few years later when I was a runt. I can still remember it, and finally managed to watch it all again last year.

Fantastic film.

Oh neat...sounds like there'll still be a goodly amoung of puppets/animatronics in the production. When I'd first heard about this, I was concerned that all the interesting parts, if not the entire thing, would be CG. Yay for people getting their hands dirty!

Actually it's not a long leash. He's left Cartoon Network ^_^

No, I meant the long leash they gave him while he was -at- CN: they get *major* props for greenlighting Samurai Jack (which would have NEVER seen air if it was just the networks!).

So, all the Gelflings and other characters are now going to be made flat with very heavy solid black outlines around them? And square-tipped fingers? Yaay! :D

I'm loving the sound of this! ^_^

Good news!
