Happy Bastille Day!
Jul. 14th, 2003 07:29 pmViva Les Mis-heads! I'm kind of so-so on the French government, but Hoorah for the French people and their history! V. Hugo-- you go!
I almost went to a Bastille Day celebration and dinner at a terrific little family owned restaurant but ended up seeing T3 instead (*rrrrnk* I lose!). Ages ago I was actually in Paris on Bastille day with a bunch of other students and it really is quite the celebration: very much in spirit like our Fourth of July. I remember the day well because our teacher/advisor, after lecturing us about pickpockets, got his wallet picked. Not only that, but the thief actually took all his cash and then put the wallet -back- into his pocket! French thieves are slick -and- considerate!
