No Walk-Up BlizzCon Tickets
We have completely sold out of BlizzCon tickets, and due to capacity limitations, we will NOT be able to sell any tickets at the door. Please note that we've made one last BlizzCon FAQ update to reflect this.


So that makes my weekend plans a little more certain. I'm still amazed that -no- tickets have shown up on Stubhub.com, Ebay or Craig's list. Cary told me that the people who would drop that much for a ticket for this con are the absolutely die-hard, Otaku-equivalent fans of WoW, so they would find a way-- any way-- to make it to the con.

I am somewhat bemused by their generousity:
For those who would like to have attended but were unable to purchase a ticket, show reports will be posted here and on news and gaming sites around the Web, offering a glimpse of many of the activities taking place at BlizzCon.

So...for all their bitterly disappointed fans, they'll have tons of posts to show them just what they're missing... Hardcore cruel!

All the ebay sellers were still recovering from their 1st degree burns of Anaheim Angels world series tickets.

Well realistically, they just didn't know about the markup value of BlizzCon tickets. I'm sure word will spread for it to happen next year.

*sigh*...not going. I'm still stunned that -no- tickets came up (that I know of) on any of the scalper sites! Sorry 'bout that!

Keep looking if you are that set on going. I've seen tickets for sale on Craigslist as late as last week.

Really? I've seen a number of "wanted" ads, and some ads disguised as "for sale" (but are really wanted ads). Still have yet to see a single one available. Though...considering that some of these people have offered (seemingly) $300-900/ticket, I may be out of my league from the start!

That's okay. It's the sort of thing where if I still lived down there I might have made plans to go, but I wouldn't fly down for it or anything like that.

At least Blizzard learned their lesson. When World of Warcraft released, they held a "release" party at one of the Fry's. I think they thought maybe a couple hundred people would show. No, it was more 1000+. Shawn and I waited in line there for about an hour or so, then finally decided we didn't care that much and went home to play WoW. :D

Up to $900? Suck. The few I've seen were in the $350-$500 range, which already seemed an obscene price for what was an already overpriced con, imo.
